Tom Smith Visit by Her Majesty the Queen
In 2013 a major development of the UK Manufacturing operation in Wales was announced whereby over 8 million pounds was being invested in 2 new state-of-the-art printing presses within a new factory, The investment was to protect the long term viability of the business and the employment it provides and assures the continuing strengthening of the Tom Smith brand.
Tom Smith has held a Royal Warrant since 1906 for the supply of Christmas Crackers and specifically to The Sovereign since the reign of King George V. The heritage, history and innovation behind the invention of the Cracker by Tom Smith in 1847 propagates to the present day whereby Tom Smith Group design crackers in Wales and hand manufacture over 74 million crackers annually in our dedicated, company-owned factory in China for worldwide distribution. In November 2013 Tom Smith were incredibly honored and privileged to receive an additional Royal Warrant for the supply of Tom Smith Christmas Wrapping Paper to Her Majesty the Queen for supply into Buckingham Palace.
On 30th April 2014, International Greetings officially opened its new manufacturing facility with the installation of 2 state-of-the-art printing presses. International Greetings were delighted and honoured to receive Her Majesty the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh to officially open their new printing facilities; an historic and memorable day witnessed by all 400 staff and invited guests. It was also a great privilege to demonstrate how the Royal Crackers are designed and handmade.
