Tom Smith and the Royal Warrant Holders Association Charity Anniversary Christmas Donation to Marie Curie Hospice

Over the last 170 years, Christmas Crackers have become a traditional part of Christmas festivities, originating in 1847 when Tom Smith’s creativity and hard work resulted in the invention of the cracker we know and love today. This year Tom Smith Celebrates the 175th Anniversary of the invention of the Christmas Cracker.

Since 1906 Tom Smith has held a Royal Warrant for the supply of Christmas Crackers to the Royal Household by appointment of Her Majesty the Queen. Tom Smith is part of the Royal Warrant Holders Association which has its very own Charity.

2022 marks the 125th Anniversary of the Charity Fund! So far this year, the Charity Fund has given grants to over 40 charities.

Through the support of the Royal Warrant Charity, Tom Smith today were delighted to present Marie Curie Hospice with a donation of £1000, this donation will pay for 50 hours of care from a Marie Curie nurse within the hospice.

The Cardiff & Vale Hospice provides the reassurance of round-the-clock expert care and support to people living with a terminal illness. Marie Curie nurses provide hands on care and also emotional support to patients and their families. Marie Curie nurses and the wider hospice team of doctors, therapists, social workers, chaplains and counsellors work together to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life.
