Tom Smith – Our Carbon Commitment

IG Design Group UK continues to take measures to reduce our business-wide carbon footprint. By example, this includes removing unnecessary product packaging, removing where possible plastic content from products altogether and contracting for electricity for our UK manufacturing processes only derived from renewable sources. We also increasingly use recycled materials for manufacturing such as our new Eco Nature gift-packaging range of gift-wrap, paper twist handle bags and paper bows all made entirely in our UK facility from recycled paper that because this is also fully recyclable is an example of our commitment to the circular economy.

Where we cannot manufacture in-house in the UK we responsibly source from trusted partners around the Globe. We recognise that shipping these products from overseas will cause sea-freight CO2 emissions and so in 2019 we made the decision to carbon offset all of our UK-inbound branded products inclusive of Tom Smith and we make a conscious decision to invest and repeat this commitment for 2021.

IG Design Group UK is working with the Woodland Trust (a company limited by guarantee (Company Number: 1982873) and a registered charity, Charity Number England and Wales: No. 294344, Scotland No. SC038885 whose registered office is at Kempton Way, Grantham, Lincolnshire NG31 6LL) as part of its sustainability commitments. We have invested in the Woodland Trust’s Woodland Carbon scheme to mitigate 1,170 tonnes of emissions resulting from our business operations.
